The Model T was the only mass-produced car of its day and Henry Ford wanted it to be used by farmers on an everyday basis. He made a special safety feature for this car. The driver's side does not have a real door so then the driver could not exit the car on the street side and be run over by a horse and buggy!
This runabout was useful around town with the little trunk in the back and then it converted into a small pickup bed for use around the ranch. This vehicle could possibly be the precursor of our all-purpose sports vehicles we have today.
